Phú Quốc Island, Vietnam, 2014 - Leica M7, Super-Elmar 21, Kodak Tri-X * The sand was very hot on this beach of Phú Quốc island where many fishing people originating from North-Vietnam were working hard under a grudging sun. For many Khmer people this touristic island with its 100,000 or so Vietnamese population, was historically their Cambodian Koh Trâl island that France arbitrarily handed over to Vietnam before leaving Indochina. Its loss goes on to be painful in their memories and their quest for the return of Koh Trâl island unfortunately proves to be rather political and quixotic.
