A MATTER OF PRIDE
I Am Proud to Be Vietnamese - Vietnameseness
Westminster, Little Saigon, USA, Tết 2015 - Leica M7, Summilux 35, Kodak Portra 160 * The yellow parade board reads "I am proud to be Vietnamese". Most overseas Vietnamese living in America, Australia, Canada and Western Europe recognize only the Yellow and Three Red Stripes flag as the “Vietnamese Culture and Heritage Flag” for remembering the former Republic of South Vietnam which lives on in the hearts and minds of millions of Vietnamese who abhor communist totalitarianism. For future generations of overseas Vietnamese the communist Red flag of Vietnam could represent nothing more than an abstract and distant governmental symbol.
